Kinoni, Uganda — 1/29/2026

The Rotary Club of Kinoni, under the leadership of John Ssentamu, is proud to announce 4 landmark, globally synchronized peace activations in 2026-2027: the Kinoni World Space Party on April 12, 2026 and the Kinoni Rotary Pause the World for Peace activation on September 21st, 2026. The Kinoni Rotary Origin Event in alignment with the Origin Global Syncronized extravaganza, and the 2027 Uganda World Space Party happening on April 7, 2027. These events will be hosted as official Rotary Club of Kinoni initiatives and integrated into the expanding Footprints of Peace Campaign, a global participation framework designed to transform peace from an abstract ideal into a shared, documented human practice.

The April World Space Parties aligns with the international spirit of Yuri’s Night, celebrating humanity’s shared future beyond borders through science, imagination, and planetary unity. The September Pause the World for Peace activation aligns with global peace observances, inviting communities to embody peace through movement, culture, and collective presence.

Together, these activations position Kinoni as a leading African contributor to synchronized global peace participation, while maintaining full respect for local culture, community leadership, and Rotary’s longstanding commitment to peace and service.

Footprints of Peace: A Global Participation Framework

The events are part of the Footprints of Peace Campaign, a planetary initiative co-founded by Michael Kamp and Alejandro M. Otero that enables individuals, cities, and institutions to participate in peace-aligned actions and leave behind verifiable, living records of those moments.

Footprints of Peace is not a single event or organization. It is a participation framework and living archive that connects local actions to global timelines, ensuring that peace is practiced, documented, and remembered across generations.

Institutional Midwives of the Initiative

The Kinoni activations are being developed and supported through a collaborative stewardship model by:

  • EduTech Tourism LLC – providing educational, cultural, and tourism integration frameworks that connect local initiatives to global learning and exchange opportunities.
  • StarHorizon Takes-U-Places Inc. – contributing decades of experience in immersive, space-aligned, and large-scale cultural activations.
  • Honeycomb Hydro LLC – supporting digital infrastructure, regenerative storytelling, and systems design.
  • Caribbean SpacePort Alliance – offering strategic alignment with global space culture, education, and international cooperation efforts.

These organizations serve as midwives of the framework, helping bring structure, continuity, and global alignment while ensuring local ownership remains intact.

Leadership & Stewardship
  • John Ssentamu, President of the Rotary Club of Kinoni, is leading local Rotary coordination and community engagement for both events.
  • Michael Kamp, Co-Founder of Footprints of Peace, serves as Director of Digital Initiatives for the Rotary Club of Kinoni, guiding digital storytelling, documentation, and global synchronization.
  • Alejandro M. Otero, Co-Founder of Footprints of Peace, Founder of StarHorizon Takes-U-Places Inc., and a founding leader within the Caribbean SpacePort Alliance, serves as Legacy Liaison for Space and Dance, bringing more than 25 years of experience in global cultural events, immersive environments, space-aligned celebrations, and international cooperation.

Together, this leadership team ensures the Kinoni activations are:

  • locally grounded
  • globally aligned
  • ethically stewarded
  • institutionally credible
Why This Matters

These events represent:

  • One of the first Rotary-aligned World Space Party activations in Africa
  • One of the first formally synchronized Earth Dance peace events hosted by a Rotary Club
  • A model for how Rotary clubs worldwide can participate in global peace moments without losing local identity

Most importantly, they demonstrate how peace can be practiced together, across cultures and continents, in ways that are joyful, inclusive, and remembered.

Looking Ahead

The Rotary Club of Kinoni invites:

  • other Rotary Clubs
  • youth organizations
  • educators and artists
  • civic and cultural partners

to observe, learn from, and eventually participate in future synchronized Footprints of Peace activations.

Further details, schedules, and participation opportunities will be announced in the coming months.

Our Programs
Powers of a Girl Initiative

Launched in May 2024 during our World Environment Day celebration at the Busubi Empowered Community Centre, this initiative supports young girls in building confidence, leadership skills, and life-readiness. Activities include mentorship sessions, storytelling, tree planting, and future sports integration.

Youth & Film Platform

Kinoni is now home to the Uganda chapter of Youth Film Platform Africa. We use storytelling and digital media as tools to engage youth and foster leadership, creativity, and critical thinking. Launch events have included interactive screenings, community dialogue, and collaborative filming projects.

Health & Water Projects

Working in partnership with the Rotary Club of Kololo Kampala and Rwampara, we've pursued water and sanitation solutions for Kinoni's 60,000+ residents. While an earlier grant (G-1064) was not finalized, we continue to implement maternal-child health programs and are securing resources for improved healthcare delivery.

Education & Exchange

In 2025, Kinoni students participated in an international exchange with the Central Foundation Girls' School (UK) through the "Empowering Voices" program. Discussions focused on global citizenship, education equity, and building confidence in young female leaders.

Initiatives & Partnerships
Viatrix Tours and Travel LTD

We partner with Viatrix Tours (founded by John Ssentamu) to create meaningful travel experiences that uplift local communities and connect tourists to social impact programs in Uganda.

We are co-developing Uganda's first Girls Basketball Academy in Kinoni! In partnership with Gorilla Hoops, this initiative blends sports, mentorship, and education for a new generation of female leaders.

To unite humanity through art, technology, and collective action — creating one million footprints of peace across the planet as a living symbol of unity, empathy, and human evolution.

Fish Farming & Aquaponics

We aim to connect Kinoni's fish farmers with partners in Kenya to improve aquaponics practices and food security. Tech exchange, workshops, and cooperative models are in development.

Hemp & Agricultural Reform

Our team is exploring the potential of regulated hemp cultivation in Uganda. With proper education and legal compliance, we believe this can boost rural economies and create jobs.
